Book drive for local elementary school

J.L. Francis Elementary is in South Richmond and is in need of books for its students.

Anita A. Nadal, assistant professor of Spanish in the School of World Studies, and her students from a Spanish 322 service learning class are holding a new or gently-used book drive for J.L. Francis Elementary School. The school is located in South Richmond and has a population that is 50% African American and 50% Hispanic. The school is underfunded and in need of much support.

Donated books can be placed in the box located at Barnes and Noble, 1111 West Broad Street.

The drive will be held until November 30.
