Call for nominations for CHS Distinguished Faculty Awards

Nominations should be submitted by 5:00 p.m., September 21.

The pandemic caused the cancellation of the spring CHS ceremony celebrating both faculty and staff award winners. In addition, some departments were unable to submit nominations for faculty awards before the shut-down. (We did receive staff nominations.) Thus, we will extend the submission deadline for nominations for faculty awards to Monday, September 21 if you were unable to submit nominations in the spring.

Each academic unit is invited to nominate members of the faculty who merit recognition in the category named in the award. Internal nomination procedures for all of the awards are to be determined by the individual units. Selection of award winners will be made by a faculty committee consisting of previous awardees.

All full-time faculty members (tenure-track, tenured or term) at any rank (instructor, assistant professor, associate professor or professor) in the College are eligible for the awards, with the exception of the Humanities and Sciences Distinguished Adjunct Award, which honors outstanding members of the adjunct faculty.

Review the descriptions of the awards.

For all nominations, please provide the following:

  1. A letter of nomination (not to exceed 3 pages) delineating the nominee’s merits in terms of the particular award for which s/he is a candidate.
  2. The candidate’s curriculum vitae.
  3. A statement of the faculty candidate’s willingness to be nominated. Nominations should be submitted by 5 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2020.

Nominations should be submitted using this Google form.
