CHS welcomes Arda Athman to the Dean’s Office
We are pleased to welcome Arda Athman (they/them/theirs) to the College of Humanities and Sciences Dean’s Office as the new social media and events specialist. Arda joins the Dean’s Office from VCU’s Department of Sociology where they worked as an administrative assistant, where they helped organize events, designed collateral materials and managed social media for the department. They have also worked over the past three years supporting the work of regional and national nonprofits and social advocacy groups, such as the Richmond Community Bail Fund, Project NIA and the VA People’s History Project. Last year, Arda was honored with Project NIA’s Clarice Durham Social Media Fellowship.
Arda holds a B.F.A. in communication arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. Outside of work, they like to work on zine and artist book projects, and tend to their garden.
Arda can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, and will report to Alexis Finc, director of communications.
