Martin honored with Staff Senate Champion of Diversity and Inclusion Award
Corey Martin was recently honored with the Staff Senate Champion of Diversity and Inclusion Award. This award is given to an individual staff member who promotes diversity and inclusive excellence throughout the university, and contributes to a sustained commitment to improve opportunities for the diverse communities we serve by spearheading the spirit of diversity, demonstrating awareness of the diverse identities among campus, and increasing diversity through positive communication, innovative methods and embracing our cross-cultural environment.
As one of his nominators wrote, "Corey has consistently been a leading voice in the Psychology Department and in CHS more broadly for equity, inclusion and diversity."
In the last few years, Corey has served on CAPS Council, the Psychology Department's Strategic Planning Committee, been a VCU Recruitment Inclusive Champion, and a member of the Staff Senate's Accessibility and Inclusion Working Group. Congrats, Corey!
