In recognition of the role faculty play in elevating the university to national prominence, the College of Humanities and Sciences hosts an annual Faculty Scholarship Recognition breakfast and solicits nominations for the Eminent Scholars Program to honor outstanding faculty members.

Faculty Scholarship Recognition

Faculty in the College who have published a new book, won a significant scholarly award, or spent more than $50,000 in research expenditures during the academic year are recognized during a special breakfast.

Eminent Scholars Program

The Eminent Scholars Program was established to recognize outstanding mid-career faculty and reward them for their scholarly contributions. Nominations are submitted by directors and department chairs and include a summary of the faculty member’s research accomplishments to-date and a five-year research plan to support the nomination. A committee consisting of members of the College’s research advisory council reviews the nominations and selects the finalists.
