*The Office of the Vice President of Research and Innovation offers several internal grant opportunities , including the Presidential Research Quest Fund awards that require a 25% cost share from CHS.
**All expenditures must occur before the end of fiscal year (June 30). Therefore, these funds must be spent (not just encumbered) by 6/7 for non-personnel costs. All personnel costs must occur before or during the pay period ending on 6/9. This ensures that all funds are properly used before the end of the fiscal year.
***These awards are typically at most $5,000; however, for scholars in disciplines that require laboratory supplies or other experiment-related equipment, requests of up to $10,000 will be considered.

College of Humanities and Sciences Funding

Impact Awards

Grants of $5,000 planned to result in the creation and implementation of innovative and sustainable practices in the classroom that lead to increased student retention, heightened engagement and improved teaching and learning.

Seed Awards

The Seed Awards program offers and administers competitive funding for faculty-driven research and scholarship and are open to full-time CHS faculty. These awards are typically at most $5,000; however, for scholars in disciplines that require laboratory supplies or other experiment-related equipment, requests of up to $10,000 will be considered.

Lift Awards

The Lift Awards supports the professional development of non-tenure eligible faculty to enhance their valued contributions to the College Humanities and Sciences’ teaching and service missions and  help them achieve career milestones as delineated by the CHS’s promotion and tenure guidelines with grants up to $5,000.
