Will Moran

Will Moran wears many hats. As the office manager for the Department of Biology, Will supports the advising center, runs the main office and reception area, manages the department’s web presence, and sometimes even finds himself in the classroom giving a biology lesson. “The Department of Biology has really embraced my ideas for improvement and change, and made me feel like I’m integral to the department,” said Will. “I love being able to help so many people at once.” Will brings a unique perspective to the position as he was also recently a student in the department, graduating with his B.S. in biology in 2014.

Will is also an advocate for his fellow staff members. Will serves as Staff Council president, a role that allows him to work directly with CHS leadership to plan and enact change for the staff community. The Council recently finished a report on staff culture and climate and presented its findings to Don Young, interim dean of CHS. (Staff Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and is open to any and every staff member, UAP and classified.)

Some other fun facts to know about Will: Throughout high school and college, he was a coach for men’s and women’s competitive gymnastics. It was this role that first introduced him to teaching. He currently lives near Carytown with a “very lazy but loving greyhound named Gia.”

Thanks, Will!
