Ashley Opfar
Opfar assists the director of human resources to help meet the needs of faculty, staff and students.
Ashley Opfar previously worked with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and served as an HR business partner and subject matter expert with oversight over all HR functions for employees within the offices in Public Health and Preparedness. She was also a team lead during the mass recruitments of case investigators and contact tracers across the state of Virginia as part of VDH's COVID-19 response.
Prior to joining VDH, Opfar worked for the University of Virginia, as a senior HR business partner, as well as an employee relations consultant in UVA’s School of Medicine.
Opfar earned a master's degree in human resource management from St. Francis University, and currently holds both Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) certifications.
