CAPS Council
Classified and Academic Professional Staff Council
The CAPS Council serves as a representative body for the staff of CHS (College of Humanities and Sciences), ensuring equal representation for staff, and works in an advisory capacity to CHS administration. CAPS serves to support the diverse staff of CHS by facilitating a welcoming environment for all staff to grow and thrive and offering all staff in CHS networking and professional development opportunities. CAPS invites open communication among staff to generate ideas to better the climate and resources available, provide a forum for the exchange of information between CHS staff and other CHS and University groups, to provide referrals for individual concerns and problems to appropriate CHS and University resources, and to advocate for continued supportive policies, representation, and solutions to concerns.
Every meeting is open for all staff to attend and participate in. Committee members hold voting rights and may be appointed to serve as a CAPS committee representative.

CAPS Council meets monthly on the third Tuesday of each month from 10-11 a.m. in the STEM Building, Room 108 A, and via Zoom. All CHS staff members are welcome to attend each and every meeting. Please know the Council is here to serve all the CHS staff and encourage attendance and participation in agenda items and bringing new business to the meetings.
