Maria Pia Tamburri

Maria Pia Tamburri is responsible for leading Dominion Energy's diversity and inclusion and employee engagement programs. She supports and leads employee-focused initiatives to foster an engaged, diverse, respectful and inclusive workplace where all employees have the opportunity to thrive. Previously, Tamburri was senior community engagement policy director. In this role, she led the company’s community engagement efforts across Dominion Energy’s footprint.
From 2001 until 2008, Tamburri held a variety of roles as a political appointee in the administration of President George W. Bush. Her time in the administration allowed her to work as senior advisor for public diplomacy and public affairs at the Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and director of specialty media and Hispanic spokesperson in the White House Office of Media Affairs. She also served in the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Tamburri currently serves as a board member for the New College Institute and Richmond Habitat for Humanity. She also serves as a member of The Presidential Precinct Global Advisory Council and member-at-large of The NAWBO Richmond Foundation.
She is a graduate of Florida International University in Miami, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science. Tamburri also studied Latin American politics at the Universidad de Belgrano in her native city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
