Funded Proposals Library

Review examples of successfully funded proposals, from a variety of sponsors, courtesy of your colleagues at CHS. The Office of Research and Innovation also maintains a funded proposals library with proposals from across the university.

Grant Editing

The Sponsored Programs Office is available to provide constructive feedback to faculty on their draft proposals.

Guidance and Procedures

Review guidelines for grant-funded teaching releases, start-up funds, and minors and volunteers in research laboratories.

Training

Faculty can email chsresearch@vcu.edu with requests or suggestions for training, or to ask for copies of materials from past workshops. Workshops held to-date include 'How to Write Winning NSF Proposals' (3/1/19) and 'Building Skills for Grant Writing' (4/26/19).

Templates and Boilerplate

Templates are available for use by faculty for commonly requested components of grant applications including Facilities and Resources, Statement of Work, Letter of Intent, Specific Aims, Letter of Commitment, Data Management Plan and Budget Justification. Protocol Navigator and Consultant Program

Conducting human subject research at VCU? Feeling stuck and don’t know where to start? Request a consultation from the new and exclusive Protocol Navigators and Consultants (PNC) pilot program! PNCs are faculty from your school who have been specially trained to assist other researchers in navigating the human research approvals process at VCU. The pilot program is exclusive to select schools and colleges on the Monroe Park Campus and is designed to assist you (i.e., VCU researchers) in navigating the human research approvals process at VCU.
